I am a huge fan of doctors in the media. The internet is rife with misinformation which can be dispelled by physician presence. I am involved in the media because of my love for educating, informing, and promoting a healthy lifestyle. Media can be used as a valuable informational tool to disseminate information to large masses of people.
In our local news, I discuss the other side of vaping (my clip is at 6:00:00) for nearly half an hour on the ABC7-Suncoast Roundtable segment. I am a huge proponent of cannabidiol (CBD) and related products which I incorporate extensively and successfully into my practice.

I recently appeared on SNN Suncoast news to address the increase in anxiety in the setting of COVID-19 and lifestyle modifications to combat this.
I am active on various social media platforms informing about neurology and promoting healthy living. It led to an opportunity to be featured on Popsugar the number one online women’s lifestyle digital site read by 500 million where I am quoted on food triggers in migraine. Opportunities like this allow me to extend my reach to inform the public and reach larger audiences to share information on healthy ways to address disorders.

My writings on the current state of healthcare has been featured on KevinMD. One of my first writings reached tens of thousands of readers through KevinMD and another 10,000 readers on my blog for the longer version in Neurologybuzz.com. Click to understand why.
The longer version is in my original blog Neurologybuzz.com
Other quotes in HuffPost which has an audience in the millions show my view on cannabidiol (CBD) for which I’m a big proponent. It has the same mechanism of action on the 5HT1 receptor which is the same mechanism through which anxiolytics and anti-depressants work.
This led to translations in many countries all over the world as I enlighten the public not only in the U.S but other countries such as France, Brazil.
In addition, some of my writings can be found in other digital news such as MedPage, Medical Economics, Physician Resources, Doximity and others. Because of this sometimes I see my writings quoted in other online news sites across the globe. I am a huge believer of doctors in media because of its far-reaching effects. If doctors don’t become active in this space no doubt, it will be quickly controlled by other entities similar to what is happening in healthcare today. We have a responsibility not only to our patients that we care for in person but a responsibility to enlighten about new innovations, dispel medical myths that permeate and stand up for important issues on healthcare.
With that said I reserve my Twitter account for advocating for healthcare issues most especially with the near extinction of the traditional doctor-patient relationship which has been superseded by electronic documenting, insurance hassles, pharmacy benefits managers, excessive administrators which all interrupt this sacred bond.
I utilize Facebook to share medical information and medical updates.
Instagram currently is my favorite in connecting with a younger audience to creatively promote healthy lifestyles and share information by incorporating dance, martial arts exercises, Zumba, and whatever I am currently doing that promotes healthy living. What you do in your 20’s, 30’s and 40’s impacts your quality of life in your 70’s, 80’s and 90’s. You live a healthy life in your youth you reap the benefits later.
I am active on social media platforms to a lesser extent on LinkedIn and YouTube.
In addition, I share information on a routine basis to various groups in the city especially on the benefits of cannabidiol and related medical products that have medical benefits.
I highly encourage other physicians to use the media to do similar activities because of the wealth of information that is at the fingertips of most physicians. The digital age is right here right now. People live on the internet searching for information. If you do not make your presence known others will dominate that space which may not necessarily be fact-based.
